Tattoo Artist

Varian, also known as Hori Ruu, has been a professional tattoo artist for over a decade. He
graduated from Capilano University Studio Art Program and Emily Carr Institute of Art and
Design.

Varian was inspired by Japanese traditional tattooing, Illustration, Black and Grey Photo
Realism, European, Contemporary and Modern Art. Having the knowledge of these
movements, he has fused a mosaic of ideas for his clients, bringing their inspirations and ideas
to life

During Varian’s time in tattoo, he has established close relationships with some of Japan’s
tattoo artists who have passed on some closely guarded secrets and traditions. Varian was
bestowed the title of Hori Ruu by his peers. Most importantly, Varian would like to acknowledge all the people who have entrusted him with
the care of making a permanent mark.
